Stagette Party
I am the type to follow the lead and referrals from those I know, so I asked
around
when it was time to plan my friends Stagette party... I heard this site was the
one to go to, that the company has been in business over 2 decades, and
they provide entertainers and models for professional, corporate, private
events. My friends at a local nightclub said they use them for promo models
and entertainers all the time...
I liked what I heard from people so I went with them...
I called the number on the website,
I talked to one of the girls in the office, (you could hear others and a lot of
phones ringing in the background so they were busy as I had heard)... The girl
was very nice,
arranged everything for me and I was surprised how quick, easy, friendly
and professional they were...now truthfully there was a glitch...the day of the
event
the manager calls me and tells me the entertainer I wanted was not going
to be able to make it...the manager assured me they could send a
replacement
or I could cancel-it was my choice. I was hesitant thinking oh no, what am I
going to get, but I thought I've gotten good feedback and vibes and went with
it...
a bit of reluctant and feeling anxious but I said OK and crossed my fingers,
I did not want to let my friends down and really hoped this company
wasn't going to let me down...boy am I glad I did...the replacement entertainer
showed up, he was good looking and the girls in attendance were digging him
...the bride loved him, so much so we were afraid the wedding was going you
be
called off, haha...but it all was a great experience and I'm glad I said ok
when they said do you want us to send a replacement...all ended better than i
could
have planned...I didn't let my friends down nor did the company didn't let me
down.

Jefferson County
Jefferson County is the most populous county in
the United States state of Alabama. As of the
2010 census, its population was 658,466.[2] Its
county seat is Birmingham,[1] the most populous
city in the 20th century, based on heavy 2010
census, its population was 658,466.[2] Its
manufacturing in steel and iron, established its
manufacturing in steel and iron, established its
dominance.dominance.

Jefferson County is the central county of the
Birmingham-Hoover, AL Metropolitan Statistical
Area.

In 2011, Jefferson County was $4.2 billion
in debt and declared bankruptcy. The financial
problems were related to costs of a huge sewer
project. Corruption was found among six county
commissioners. This was the largest Chapter 9
(municipal) bankruptcy in the United States, until
it was surpassed by that of Detroit, Michigan in
2013. Jefferson County emerged from
bankruptcy in December 2013, following the
approval of a bankruptcy plan by the United
States bankruptcy court for the Northern District
of Alabama, writing off more than $1.4 billion of
the debt.

Founded around 1871, Birmingham was named
for the industrial English city of the same name
in Warwickshire. That city had long been a
center of iron and steel production in Great
Britain. Birmingham was formed by the merger
of three towns, including Elyton. It has continued
to grow by annexing neighboring towns and
villages, including North Birmingham.

As Birmingham industrialized,
its growth accelerated, particularly after 1890. It
attracted numerous rural migrants, both black
and white, for its new jobs. It also attracted
European immigrants. Despite the city's rapid
growth, for decades it was underrepresented in
the legislature. Legislators from rural counties
kept control of the legislature and, to avoid
losing power, for decades refused to
reapportion the seats or redistrict congressional
districts. Birmingham could not get its urban
needs addressed by the legislature.

Nearby Bessemer, Alabama, located 16 miles
by car to the southwest, also grew based on
industrialization. It also attracted many workers.
By the early decades of the 20th century, it had
a majority-black population, but whites
dominated politically and economically.

Racial tensions increased in the cities
and state in the late 19th century as whites
worked to maintain white supremacy. The white-
dominated legislature passed a new constitution
in 1901 that disenfranchised most blacks and
many poor whites, excluding them totally from
the political system. While they were nominally
still eligible in the mid-20th century for jury duty,
they were overwhelmingly excluded by white
administrators from juries into the 1950s.
Economic competition among the new workers
in the city also raised tensions. It was a rough
environment of mill and mine workers in
Birmingham and Bessemer, and the Ku Klux Klan
was active in the 20th century, often with many
police being members into the 1950s and 1960s.

In a study of lynchings in the South from 1877 to
1950, Jefferson County is documented as having
the highest number of lynchings of any county in
Alabama. White mobs committed 29 lynchings in
the county, most around the turn of the century
at a time of widespread political suppression of
blacks in the state.

Even after 1950,
racial violence of whites against blacks
continued. In the 1950s KKK chapters bombed
black-owned houses in Birmingham to
discourage residents moving into new middle-
class areas. In that period, the city was referred
to as "Bombingham."

In 1963 African Americans led a movement in
the city seeking civil rights, including integration
of public facilities. The Birmingham campaign
was known for the violence the city police used
against non-violent protesters. In the late
summer, city and business officials finally agreed
in 1963 to integrate public facilities and hire
more African Americans. This followed the civil
rights campaign, which was based at the 16th
Street Baptist Church, and an economic boycott
of white stores that refused to hire blacks.
Whites struck again: on a Sunday in September
1963, KKK members bombed the 16th Street
Baptist Church, killing four young black girls and
injuring many persons. The African-American
community quickly rebuilt the damaged church.
They entered politics in the city, county and
state after the Voting Rights Act of 1965 was
passed.

Birmingham
(/ˈbɜːrmɪŋhæm/ BUR-ming-ham)
is a city in the north central region of the U.S.
state of Alabama. With an estimated 2018
population of 209,880, it is the most populous
city in Alabama.[4] Birmingham is the seat of
Jefferson County, Alabama's most populous and
fifth largest county. As of 2018, the Birmingham-
Hoover Metropolitan Statistical Area had a
population of 1,151,801, making it the most
populous in Alabama and 49th-most populous in
the United States. Birmingham serves as an
important regional hub and is associated with the
Deep South, Piedmont, and Appalachian regions
of the nation.

Birmingham was founded in 1871, during the
post-Civil War Reconstruction era, through the
merger of three farm towns, most notably
Elyton. The new city was named for
Birmingham, England, the UK's second largest
city and, at the time, a major industrial center.
The Alabama city annexed smaller neighbors
and developed as an industrial center, based on
mining, the new iron and steel industry, and rail
transport. Most of the original settlers who
founded Birmingham were of English ancestry.
[5] The city was developed as a place where
cheap, non-unionized immigrant labor (primarily
Irish and Italian), along with African-American
labor from rural Alabama, could work in the
city's steel mills and blast furnaces, giving it a
competitive advantage over unionized industrial
cities in the Midwest and Northeast.[6]:14

Panoramic map of Birmingham's
business section from 1903
From its founding through the end of the 1960s,
Birmingham was a primary industrial center of
the southern United States. Its rapid growth
from 1881 through 1920 earned it the nicknames
"The Magic City" and "The Pittsburgh of the
South". Its major industries were iron and steel
production. Major components of the railroad
industry, rails and railroad cars, were
manufactured in Birmingham. Since the 1860s,
the two primary hubs of railroading in the "Deep
South" have been Birmingham and Atlanta. The
economy diversified in the latter half of the 20th
century. Banking, telecommunications,
transportation, electrical power transmission,
medical care, college education, and insurance
have become major economic activities.
Birmingham ranks as one of the largest banking
centers in the U.S. Also, it is among the most
important business centers in the Southeast.

In higher education, Birmingham has been the
location of the University of Alabama School of
Medicine (formerly the Medical College of
Alabama) and the University of Alabama School
of Dentistry since 1947. In 1969, it gained the
University of Alabama at Birmingham, one of
three main campuses of the University of
Alabama System. It is also home to three
private institutions: Samford University,
Birmingham-Southern College, and Miles
College. The Birmingham area has major
colleges of medicine, dentistry, optometry,
physical therapy, pharmacy, law, engineering,
and nursing. The city has three of the state's five
law schools: Cumberland School of Law,
Birmingham School of Law, and Miles Law
School. Birmingham is also the headquarters of
the Southwestern Athletic Conference and the
Southeastern Conference, one of the major U.S.
collegiate athletic conferences.
